EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Yvonne Jegede Nick-named Choco the beautiful actress is from Edo State South-south Nigeria. Yvonne Jegede was born on the 25th of August 1983 to Mr. and Mrs. Jegede. Her birth-place is Agenebode in the Etsako-East local government area of Edo State, Nigeria. Yvonne Jegede had a fun-filled moment growing up with a happy family. As a teenager, she dreamt of becoming a beauty queen and becoming the next Miss Nigeria. Sadly, her dreams could not come to reality, no thanks to her height. Nonetheless, she was later to become an actress. Know that her parent never supported her decision to become an actress, arguing that acting has no prospect. Yvonne Jegede convinced them otherwise after acting in a drama at their local Church Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG). She acted perfectly well, causing her father to be pleased with her newly found passion.
Yvonne Jegede had her primary and secondary education In Lagos State. She left Nigeria for Europe after graduating from secondary school. In Cyprus, Yvonne Jegede studied International Relations and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree.
CAREER
Yvonne Jegede got into Nollywood in 2004 just after she rounded off her secondary education. She was introduced to the industry by a Nollywood movie director, Charles Nova. That year she featured in a movie titled Missing Angels. She continued taking roles here and there, perfecting her skills. In 2005, she featured in 2Face Idibia’s music video for his legendary song African Queen along with Annie Macaulay, the wife of 2Face. It was then that her popularity grew exponentially.
After engaging in a couple of productions, she took a break in 2007 to commence her University education in Europe. When she had completed her tertiary studies, she returned to Nigeria in 2012 to continue with her acting career. Taking a step further from acting, Yvonne in 2015, produced her first movie titled 3 is Company. The movie starred top celebrities. Later in 2016, she made an appearance in the wedding edition of Genevieve Nnaji magazine, wearing an Agatha Moreno wedding gown. She has since then remained a relevant figure in the movie industry and has made appearances in about 150 Nollywood movies including Missing Angels, Okafor’s Law, Pot of Life, Gold Statue, Side Chic Squad, Single and Married, 10 Days in Sun City, The Silver Spoon, The Sassy One, Climax, Gone to America, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Forget Me Not, True Lies, Smiles of Sweet Love, Two Hearts That Binds Together, Strange Affection, among others. She is the brand ambassador of Mimi Productions Limited and the founder of Choco Luxury.
PERSONAL LIFE
Yvonne Jegede is a single mother. She has a son named Xavier Fawole from her Ex-husband, Olakunle Abounce Fawole, the son of late Bukky Ajayi. Olakunle Abounce Fawole and Yvonne Jegede got married after 14 years of courtship in 2017 and divorced a few years later. In an open letter, Yvonne Jegede explains that she holds no grudges against her exes, including her former husband. The beautiful actress is dark in complexion. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She spends a lot of quality time with her son and is not in any relationship presently.
