Jennifer Joanna Aniston (born February 11, 1969) is a famous American actress, producer, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Born in a family of actors, she decided to follow in her parent’s footsteps early in her life and trained herself accordingly. However, in spite of her best efforts, success eluded her for six long years. It was not until she got the role of Rachel Green in the popular television sitcom ‘Friends’ that she could make any mark. Thanks to her portrayal, Rachel Green became so popular that the hairstyle she wore in the sitcom began to be known as The Rachel. Unfortunately, she also became typecast. Later, her successful portrayal of an unglamorous cashier in ‘Good Girl’ set her free from such stereotype image. Very soon, good roles began to pour in and she started playing the female protagonist in many hit films. In addition, she appeared in many successful commercials and music videos. She also signed a contract with Elizabeth Arden Inc and worked for more than one year to launch a new perfume named ‘Jennifer Aniston’. She also has two other perfumes to her credit; ‘J by Jennifer Aniston and ‘Near Dusk by Jennifer Aniston’. Her fight for equal rights for the LGBT has also been appreciated greatly.

Following the critical panning of her 1992 horror film, Leprechaun, Aniston briefly considered quitting her acting career. Fortunately for Aniston, she successfully auditioned for Friends. Although the producers originally wanted her to audition for the role of Monica, she persuaded them that she would be better suited to Rachel’s character. She played the role for 10 years, from 1994-2004.
Friends was a massive success and Jennifer Aniston received a salary of one million dollars per episode for the last two seasons of the comedy. The following year, Jennifer Aniston appeared in Friends With Money. The film opened at the Cannes Film Festival. The film was a low-budget affair and grossed over $13 million, even with a limited cinema release. The Break-Up was Aniston’s next major studio film release. The film grossed over $203 million worldwide, again defying its lack of critical support.
In a return to TV, Jennifer appeared in an episode of Courtney Cox-Arquette’s series Dirt. Aniston has also tried her hand at directing a short film.
