Like his late father, Damian Robert Nesta “Jr. Gong” Marley (born July 21, 1978) is a Jamaican super reggae artist.
He differs from his father career-wise as he doubles as a rapper and a songwriter.
In addition, he is also a music producer.
EARLY LIFE
Damian Marley’s birth and growth place are in the city of Kingston, located in Jamaica.
He was born on July 21, 1978, making him the last son of legendary reggae singer, Bob Marley.
His birth came out of wedlock, and his mother is a supermodel known as Cindy Breakspeare.
The beautiful Cindy Breakspeare won Miss World in 1976. Bob Marley died two years after his birth.
Damian Marley has other siblings, namely Stephen Marley, Julian Marley, Ziggy Marley, Rohan Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, and Cardella Marley.
Bob Maley did not marry his mother as he had a wife named Rita Marley. He had eleven children; Four with his wife, two adopted from Rita Marley’s Ex-husband, and others from previous relationships.
Damian Marley grew up with his father as a role model, no wonder he has his father’s incredible dreadlocks and adopted his father’s Rastafarian faith.

Damian Marley’s career in music started at a very tender age learning from his father’s old records. His father was a significant inspiration in achieving his career goal.
He released his first album in 1996 titled “Mr. Marley.” He made another album in 2001 with the title “Half Way Tree.” His third album, “Welcome To Jamrock,” was released in 2005.
His major hit came with a collaboration with E.D.M. Producer Skrillex titled “Make it Bun Dem” in 2012. Then, he cracks the globe with another hit, “Welcome to Jamrock,” that same year which was on repeat in most rotations.
The highlight of his career includes awards and nominations under his belt. He won an award for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance for “Welcome To Jamrock.” He also won an award for his hit single “Stony Hill” at the Grammy Awards.
