Chioma Chukwuka has been married to Franklin Akpotha since 2006 and they reportedly have two sons together but because she has successfully kept details about her family under the radar, their names and identities are not known.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha was born on March 12th, 1980, in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria to Chief and Mrs Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.

Chioma Akpotha hails from a close-knit family. Even though her family members have remained private, she has revealed them several times on social media. She has two sisters Ify Chuckwuka and Oge Alfred. Also, she has two brothers, Tochukwu Chukwukwa and Chiagozie Chukwuka.

Her mother, Ugomba Chukwuka, was a professional cook who owned a restaurant. Details about her father’s career and life remain unknown. However, Chioma’s parents have always been keen on education and encourage all their children to go to school no matter what they intend to become. This is one reason she didn’t start her acting career in the late 1990s, but in 2000, even though she was already in the industry.

Chioma was still young, she lost her mother, Grace Egoyibo Chukwuka. She completed her primary education at Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State, and then proceeded to Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State for her secondary education and had her tertiary education at the Lagos State University where she studied Banking and Finance.

With pure talent, sheer aptitude, and a passion for acting, Chioma made her acting debut in 2000 with the movie “The Apple” where she acted as an obstinate 17-year-old who felt she was sufficiently mature for marriage. She would go on to make an indelible stamp in the industry and the hearts of the Nollywood fan base. She is best known for her ability to encapsulate the persona of the characters she plays in her movies bringing credibility to her roles.

Chioma joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and acted in her first movie “The Handkerchief”.
